30 Mar WINNER OF BRAND NEW STUDENT OF THE YEAR AWARD ANNOUNCED
ACM Parts and Chisholm Institute today announced the 2016 winner of the inaugural Student of the Year award to recognise exceptional automotive apprentices.
Third-year automotive student Nathan Thomson is the first recipient of the ACM Parts-sponsored award, which is part of an ongoing partnership between ACM Parts and Chisholm to provide quality automotive education and training.
ACM Parts CEO Mike Kirkman said the award was a fundamental part of ACM Parts’ commitment to encourage and foster outstanding talent in the automotive space.
“An investment in the best and brightest students is an investment in the Australian collision and mechanical repair industry,” Mr Kirkman said.
“ACM Parts is proud to have been able to give Nathan the tools and opportunities to help him succeed and we wish him all the best with his future career.”
Nathans pathway led him from a Certificate II in Automotive Technology VETis program during high school onto complete his Certificate III Automotive Mechanical Technology with Chisholm and has been working full time for VACC with host employer Bay City Holden, Frankston.
Chisholm General Manager for Trades, Stuart Hoxley said the award was well deserved.
“Nathan has been an absolutely outstanding student who has shown tremendous skill and promise in his apprenticeship at Chisholm,” Mr Hoxley said.
“We know he has a great career ahead of him and that he will make good use of the excellent opportunities and support with which ACM Parts has provided him.”
ACM Parts will present Nathan with a toolbox prize to the value $2000.
